Give Me Wings

Give me wings so I may fly.

Give me wings to soar,
Wings to float among the clouds
And knock at heaven’s door.

Give me wings to fly aloft,
To skim the mountain peaks,
And glide down rocky gorges,
And follow rushing creeks.

Give me wings to cross the seas,
To traverse distant lands,
To see the tide lap on the shores
Of strange and foreign sands.

Give me wings to soar and swoop,
To wander free, to roam.

Give me wings and set me free,
And one day I’ll fly home.
